Filter Coffee and MS Amma’s Suprabhatam – A Divine Awakening

Misty mornings,

Dew drops on the leaves shining like diamonds,

Reflecting the first rays of the Sun,

Smell of fresh South Indian filter coffee

MS Subbalakshmi’s Venkateshwara Suprabhatam

Sprouts Ponganalu/Paniyaram, #Vegan, #LunchBox

Sprouts sneaked inside the dosa batter for the ponganalu for a quick nutrition boost. I had used a combination of moong, masoor and kala chana. Moong and Masoor cooked well but channa sprouts needed some more cooking time. Will omit them next time.

Mix 1/2 cup of sprouts into the dosa batter. Proceed making ponganalu as given in details in this post

Packed with tomato chutney they make a yummy lunchbox option.

#Sprouts on a Dosa – Health in a Plate

The picture is the recipe. For those who insist –

  • Spread the dosa batter on the tawa.
  • Sprinkle handful of sprouts (mung, moth, masoor work well) on the dosa immediately.
  • If you want roasted sprouts, flip over the dosa and roast for a minute on the other side. Even without this step, the sprouts get cooked in the time the dosa gets cooked.

Fold, serve, eat and feel Good.  Feel free to omit this step for people are allergic to sprouts 🙂 Pack it for your kids for a nutritious lunch.
